Dr. German Ramírez

Dr. Ramirez is a dentist from Colombia. He is a certified Paediatric Dentistry in Canada.

He has trained in Orthodontics and received a Master Degree in Dental Sciences in Australia and PhD degree in Oral Biology in Australia. He also holds a Master degree with focus in Craniofacial Pain and Sleep Apnoea from Tufts University.

Dr. Ramirez is the author of the book “Early Treatment of Malocclusions: Prevention and Interception in Primary Dentition”, as well as the co-author of the book “Guiding Craniofacial Growth and Development with The Myobrace System.”

He investigates on Craniofacial Growth and Development, the Patho-Physiology of Functional Disorders in the Cranio-Cervico-Mandibular system and how the craniofacial structures are modified by functional appliance

Fabiola Nossa

Fabiola has been a health professional for more than 25 years. Since 2012 she has been passionate about Orofacial Myofunctional therapy.

She has trained with Joy Moeller, Sandra Coulson in the USA. Also she trained with Esther Gokhale in body posture improvement and trained with Patrick McKeown in the Buteyko breathing method.

Lately she became a Certified Specialist in Orofacial Myology from the Graduate School of Behavioral Health Sciences in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Fabiola has developed a system to integrate Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy in the dental clinic; guiding craniofacial growth and development in children and correcting oral dysfunctions.

• Screening Sleep and Breathing Disorders in Children
• Selective grinding to stabilize the mandible in primary dentition
• The Planas’ Direct Tracks (PDTs) : Guiding the position of the mandible with a fixed technique for primary dentition (Hands-on for Dentists)
• Orofacial Myology (AKA: Myofunctional Therapy) A therapy to correct Mouth Breathing (Hands-on for staff)

Note: Dr. Ramirez will schedule an individual ZOOM meeting with every participant who presented a case in Module 1 to follow up together on the progress of your cases.

• Demystifying craniofacial growth and development: A new perspective in SIX Dimensions
• The dynamics of the Tongue: Understanding a complex organ
• The Arch Light Force (ALF) appliance and its Modus Operandi to stabilize the craniofacial complex and guide craniofacial growth and development
• The Bend Wire System and the ALF appliances: Understanding their differences and when to use each of them (Hands-on for Dentists)
• Using the Myobrace System to improve oral functions
• Orofacial Myology / Myofunctional Therapy: Let’s re-educate tongue posture (Hands-on for staff)

12:30 – 12:30 pm:  Hands-on: Let’s practice lips and chewing exercises with Myofunctional Therapy.

1:30 – 3:30 pm:  Tongue and Lip ties: Recognizing and releasing them. Do we have to cut all of them?

MODULE 3 OJECTIVES

  • Combining the PDTs, the ALF and the Myobrace to get better results
  • Delivering and activating the ALF appliance to produce light forces in the craniofacial complex (Hands-on for Dentists)
  • How to identify a Maxillary retrusion and a Bi-Maxillary retrusion with the Sassouni Cephalometry (Hands-on for Dentists)
  • Orofacial Myology / Myofunctional Therapy: Coordinating Nasal breathing, a correct tongue posture and Lip seal  (Hands-on for staff)

• Improving Nasal breathing with a Palatal Expander which respects a correct tongue position: The GR Palatal Expander
• Maxillary protraction using intra-oral forces: The GR Maxillary Protractor
• The Early Interception to improve oral functions and re-patterning the craniofacial growth and development
• Dentists and Orofacial Myologists working together to improve the results in an Interceptive Orthodontic Treatment (Hands-on Dentists and Staff)
